This exterior renovation in Windsor was completed by Colorado Siding to transform a home with failing Masonite siding into a true forever home. The existing materials were deteriorating and no longer providing adequate protection, prompting the homeowners to reimagine the exterior entirely. Their goal was to elevate the home’s appearance while staying in the neighborhood they loved—creating a long-term, dream-home aesthetic with improved durability and performance.
Colorado Siding removed the hail-damaged vinyl siding and replaced it with a combination of James Hardie Aged Pewter lap siding and staggered shake siding, paired with Cobblestone accents for added texture and depth. All windows were upgraded to Pella 250 Series windows, improving both efficiency and durability. Hardie® fascia and soffit were installed throughout, replacing all previous soffits. The existing stonework was carefully matched to maintain a cohesive and original exterior appearance.
The design approach focused on consistency and longevity. Neutral tones and classic textures were selected to align with the home’s original aesthetic while introducing more resilient materials. Installation required added precision, particularly when integrating a new drip edge into the Hardie® fascia system—one of the more technically demanding aspects of the project. Throughout the process, materials were chosen specifically for their resistance to hail and pests, ensuring the exterior would perform well in Colorado’s unpredictable weather.
As shown in the before-and-after images below, this Englewood home underwent a clean, cohesive transformation that restored curb appeal and improved protection. The new fiber cement siding provides significantly greater resistance to hail and pests, reducing the risk of future storm damage.
